Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger refers to it as the "ribbon of shame," a congressional district that stretches in a reed-thin line 200 miles along the California coast from Oxnard to the Monterey County line. Voters there refer to it as "the district that disappears at high tide."

When you Google for the California Redistricting Commission, a PAID advertisement comes up for the Ella Baker Center with a link to a bio for Commission Member Connie Galambos Malloy.  Apparently they are proud enough that she is on the Commission that they are now advertising it.

The commission has scheduled meetings starting January 12th in Sacramento. Topics to bo covered include trainings on meeting rules, setting future meetings, hiring staff.
