The Nooner for Wednesday, August 26, 2020, presented by SYASL Partners

  • Wildfires
    • Bless you Davis, or Namu Amida Butsu in my spirtuality
  • COVID-19
    • The numbers

As if 2020 couldn't suck more, my Auntie Carol is in the eye of Hurricane Laura at my late grandparents house in Conroe, Texas. Fortunately, she is probably far enough inland to avoid storm surge but of course worry about winds.

I am still exhausted and can't write much. I will of course extend subscriptions and advertising as I always do. Like most of you, I am exhausted.

Meanwhile...

You need to. know that I am being screwed by anti-SEasian Folt

Bless you firefighters. Namu Amida Butsu.

From the Davis Fire Department: "G33 returned yesterday, after fighting fires throughout the state, to spend time with their families before they return to work in the city. A fresh crew on G33 left Davis at 3:30am this morning. #davisfirefighters #lnulightningcomplex"

I am so sorry!

NorCal Fires

COVID-19: California added 156 deaths yesterday for a total of 12,416. The largest counties were Los Angeles (50), Orange (15), and Fresno (13). The hopes of keeping Orange off the state monitoring list are being dashed.

-Testing: Overall cases have been declining, but so has testing. I don't want to make this political, but every politician wants lower numbers.

WILDFIRES: As of the report this morning, 937 structures have burned in the LNU Lightining Complex in Sonoma, Lake, Napa, Yolo & Solano counties, becoming one of the biggest and deadliest wildfires in California history. Meanwhile, the SCU Lightning Complex is 362,722 acres in Stanislaus, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Joaquin counties.
