RECENT AURAL PLEASURE:
SPORTS PAGE: The Giants are at the Dodgers tonight at 7:05.
It's Juneteenth. Parts of my family has been in this country since 1650, so let's just say that the history wasn't pretty. But I love my country and my family's legacy since. My grandfather became a geophysicist and worked for Texcaco internationally. My dad is a jr. My mom insisted that I had a different name rather than being a third. My middle name is "Morgan" in the compromise. I am thus SML...small-medium-large. It's all in the game, yo'.
The Anti-VAXXers are all over the teevee today with absolute lies. Of course, by "all over teevee," I mean CNN because that's what runs in the background when I write.
Meanwhile, we're getting more deets into the Corona Costco shooting by an off-duty LAPD officer. The story now has the officer being unconscious before the shooting in line for food samples. Shooting while unconscious.
I respect and honor cops, but there is something very wrong here. Shooting and unconscious? There is something wrong in this story. I was just the foreperson on a jury that found the defendant guilty. I'm no patent liberal.
I'm looking forward to talking to Sac County DA Anne Marie Schubert tomorrow. I think I've written here before that I was happy to serve as a foreperson on a jury last month. It crushed me to convict someone, but the liberal Sacramento unanimous jury was right. Many of us cried as we didn't want to send a guy to prison for a stupid shooting of a neighbor. We cried but we did our duty.
FIRES: PG&E has agreed in bankruptcy to pay $1 billion in wildfire costs to counties related to the previous fires. This does include personal (insurance company) complaints, so we have a long way to go.
CAKEDAY after the jump...
#CAKEDAY: Happy birthday to Congressman Pete Aguilar, Kerri Condley, and Kyndell Gaglio!
