SEEN/HEARD: Congressmember Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) was on Meet the Press to talk about the idiot governor from Virginia. On the Lovett or Leave It pod, House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) said that he can now be referred to as "Chairman Doof." Adam is one of our best. If Kamala becomes President or Veep or DiFi resigns mid-term, Gavin would be wise to appoint Adam, but SOS Alex Padilla wants it more and would be the first LatinX Senator from California.

From the Capitol

Happy Sunday! Weather is sure nasty out there. No farmers market for me today, and that's a big statement. I need to send care packages to Riverdog, Lucky Dog, and Farmelot farms who fill my fridge every week.

Sixty years ago today was the day the music died as the plane carrying The Big Bopper, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and pilot Roger Peterson crashed in Iowa.

I grew up an Anaheim Rams friend. I went to Titan Youth Sports Camp and carried Rams' practice gear to the locker room whem they practiced at CSUF. Two thoughts in LA today--we have a football team (yeah, two) and there's a game today? St. Louis is already drunk and doesn't know that it no longer has a team.

You read that right. We went to cheer on the Anaheim Rams. I'll be cheering on the "sons" of the parents of my schoolkids today. NFL, you can go to hell.

PENSIONS: For CALmatters, Dan Walters looks at just how much of a hole the state's pension systems are in. It depends on which valuation assumptions you use, and 2018 was not a good year for CalPERS with the late-year sell-off.
