Happy Monday! Yes, you can ask Alexa to play the "I Have a Dream" speech, which is how I started my day. It's great to be an alumnus of a law school honored by the name of its building.

Congratulations to the Rams. For the first time in 35 years, Los Angeles has a team in the Super Bowl. In 1984, the Los Angeles Raiders defeated the Washington Redskins 38-9 at Tampa Stadium. Of those three entities, only the Washington Redskins are still around.

The only thing clear about yesterday's game was that few people were happy with the way the games transpired. Point your fingers at missed calls or a truly crappy way to end a game in overtime--just leaves a bad taste in a game that is more about money than sportsmanship.

The head of NFL officiating told the Saints coach that the call was blown and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell can call for a replay of the game next weekend, a week before the scheduled Super Bowl, he won't. While one more game could bring in new revenues, the NFL is plenty happy with a New England-Los Angeles face off in Atlanta.

To those counting the cash, bringing notoriously fair-weather fans in Southern California in to the final game is far more attractive than New Orleans. Similarly, while lots of viewers thought Kansas City was completely screwed over by the latest iteration of playoff overtime rules, the Foxborough franchise brings in far more viewers for the big game.

Yes, I'm happy California has a team in the game and that team is not silver and black. But, the road that brought the teams to Super Bowl LIII is frought with potholes that raises serious questions about the game.

2020: This morning to gasps of no one, Senator Kamala Harris announced that she was running for President on ABC's Good Morning America and will be in Oakland later today. While we were sleeping, her campaign website flipped over from "Kamala Harris United States Senator" to "Kamala Harris For The People." Her social media has been updated and she has a Facebook video. Papers were given embargoed stories in the well-planned roll-out.

"Decency. Justice. Truth. Equality. Freedom. Democracy.

These aren’t just words: they’re the values we, as Americans, cherish. Right now, they’re all on the line.

We face the greatest crisis of leadership we’ve seen in our lifetimes, and powerful voices are filling the void, sowing hate and division among us."

You can already buy swag and he colors appear to be yellow, red, and purple.

The LAT's Michael Finnegan looks at Harris's personal and political background. While Finnegan writes past attacks against Harris in her 2003 SF district attorney campaign include "winking allusions to a past romance" with Willie Brown, James Richardson wrote in his 1996 miticulously researched eponymous biography on Brown:

"Beaming broadly beside him on stage, Brown's girlfriend, Kamala Harris, kissed him and gave him a blue cap emblazened with "Da Mayor." Brown proudly put the cap on his balding head."

On December 26, 1995, legendary San Francisco Chronicle columnist predicted that the two would wed, although that did not come to fruition.

For Politico, Christopher Cadelago looks at Harris's campaign strategy.

LAUSD: Negotiations continue, with nothing announced about tomorrow's school day.

IMMIGRATION: In the Union-Tribiune, Kate Morrissey writes that Gavin Newsom's proposed budget includes $25 million to support a "rapid-response network" to aid immigrants who have been received and released with asylum claims along border areas.
