Lobbyist Chris Micheli is working the abacus: "Through Wednesday, and with two days remaining, of the 789 bills that reached the Governor’s Desk after the close of the legislative session, he has acted upon 638 bills. Of those, he has signed 541 bills and vetoed 97 bills (15.2% vetoed so far). That leaves 151 bills to be acted upon by tomorrow’s deadline."

California suspends investment business with Wells Fargo over account scandal [Jim Miller @ SacBee] - "California Treasurer John Chiang hit Wells Fargo Bank with the loss of state investments and other sanctions Wednesday, punishing the mammoth bank for “fleecing” customers who had credit cards and other accounts fraudulently opened in their names. Other state and local governments should follow suit, he said. For the next 12 months, the state will not invest in Wells Fargo securities, the bank will not be used as a broker-dealer in investment purchases by the treasurer’s office, and the bank will not be considered for managing underwriter on sales of California state bonds where the treasurer assigns the underwriter, Chiang’s office announced."

This is sad. This is one of the cornerstone companies in California's history. The company pretends to be headquartered in California, when it's really based in Charlotte, NC.
